Your thoughts are like food – do you realize that? They fuel the cells of your body in a certain way!
I have said this before, but I REALLY want you to get the following concept and reality:
Your thoughts have a HUGE impact on how you physically feel each day and can morph the cells of your body to manifest better health or to experience declining health. Yes, that is true.
Your thoughts are either nourishing to your mind, body and soul OR they are toxic to your body. You get to choose!
Two of my favorite books are ‘Think and Grow Rich’ and ‘Ask and it is Given’. Both of these books are based on the premise that we have the power within us to manifest our deepest desires. And where does it start? … With HOW WE THINK!
Everything we say to ourselves each day is an affirmation of some belief we have. There are both positive and negative affirmations that cross our minds every single day. I want you to think about this right now => What are the first few thoughts YOU have when you wake up in the morning?
Are you focusing on what DOESN’T feel good in your body?
Are you already cranky about those few aches and pains you have before you even get out of bed?
Are you thinking about ALL the things you have to do that day & getting overwhelmed just thinking about your to-do list?
Are you WORRIED about what’s in store for you that day?
Are you thinking about how you used to feel in the past and wish that you were back to that time and place?
Are you focusing on what you DON’T have in your life?
Do you wake up thinking …
* Thank you for another day!
* I am so grateful that I woke up this morning!
* It’s a new day … a new beginning to choose to be positive and enjoy the life I have.
* Today is going to be a GREAT day. I CAN and I WILL! 🙂
* What fabulous surprises are in store for me today?! (Living in the positive expectations vs. waiting for the shoe to drop!)
* Today I am going to be happy just because I am alive!
Before I get out of bed some mornings I actually go through a list of things that I am grateful for by saying Thank You to each one and listing them out loud in my head.
For example: Thank you for my life, thank you for the love of my life, thank you for the coaching clients I get to work with each week, thank you for my beautiful home, thank you for the money I DO have in the bank, thank you for the health of my body, thank you for all the discounts I get each and every week, thank you for my neighbors who bring me home cooked meals randomly – just because, thank you … You get the idea! I get that gratitude energy flowing before my feet hit the ground to go to the bathroom and brush my teeth in the morning! That’s a way to start the day – with GRATITUDE!
Can you see how your first thoughts in the morning could set the tone for the rest of the day? And then, what if you continue to think negative & worrisome thoughts throughout the rest of the day (e.g., my legs are tired, I can’t believe this, what’s happening to my body?, I can’t do what I used to do, money is tight, if I only had … )
How about trying the following affirmations on for size:
Instead of ‘My legs are tired, what’s happening to my body?’
Say instead => ‘My body is always doing its best to create perfect health. Perfect health is my divine right, and I claim it now.’
Instead of ‘I can’t do what I used to do!’
Say instead => ‘Limitations are merely opportunities to grow. I use them as stepping-stones to success.’ or ‘I trust my instincts and I know that there is a way to still do what I love.’
Instead of ‘Money is tight; if I only had …’
Affirm this => ‘At this very moment, enormous wealth and power are available to me. I choose to feel worthy and deserving.’ OR
‘I am now willing to be open to the unlimited prosperity that exists everywhere.’ OR ‘I am grateful for all the good in my life. Each day brings wonderful new surprises.’
Instead of saying “I am getting old; I can’t do anything I use to!”
Affirm this => ‘Aging is a privilege that is not given to many. I am going to be grateful to be alive today and choose to celebrate what IS working in my body!’
Do you see the difference a thought can make? How did you feel when you were reading the positive statements above? Do a ‘gut check’ and read them again. Read both the negative affirmations and the positive ones. And after each one, stop and check in with your body and see how it FEELS. What’s your facial expression when you are reading these statements?
Now, you may be thinking … “yeah right Maria, you think this is so easy… you’re not in my shoes, you don’t feel the way I do, you don’t have MY life”! Well, you are right, I am not in your shoes, but I can tell you that there is one thing that you and I have in common… we both have the power to CHOOSE what we focus on. And if we focus on ‘lack’ that is exactly what we will get more of. If we focus on what we do have and what we are grateful for, more good will come into our lives. That I do know!
I also know that there is power in writing these affirmations down on paper and speaking them out loud every day. You have an amazing power within you to change your life! Tap into that power!!!
The first step to creating a positive change in every area of your life is to recognize that:
Your thoughts CREATE your reality and will impact how good or bad you feel physically each day! Isn’t your overall health and wellbeing your #1 priority? If so, then you know what you have to do!
What are you THINKING right now?
